Jurisdiction

The part Microsoft
can’t fix.

Microsoft built an EU Data Boundary. It cannot build an EU jurisdiction: as a US corporation it is subject to the CLOUD Act wherever your bytes physically sit. In 2025, Microsoft France told the French Senate under oath that it could not guarantee French data would never be handed to US authorities without EU consent.

Email.eu is operated by Remails B.V., a Dutch company, on OVHcloud infrastructure in Paris — with an EU-only supplier chain from servers to payment processing. Any request for your data goes through a European court, and it goes through us first.

Microsoft 365 Business Standard is cheaper on paper and includes the desktop Office apps. If your workflows live in desktop Excel, we won't pretend otherwise — our editors are web-based, in open formats (.docx, .xlsx work natively).

What the difference buys you: EU jurisdiction end to end, 2 TB per user instead of an add-on ladder, video meetings included instead of a separate Teams licence, no AI in your data path, and onboarding done by hand rather than by wizard.
