Jurisdiction

The part Google
can’t fix.

Google offers EU data regions. It cannot offer EU jurisdiction: as a US corporation it is subject to the CLOUD Act wherever your bytes physically sit. Choosing a Frankfurt region changes the latency, not the law.

Email.eu is operated by Remails B.V., a Dutch company, on OVHcloud infrastructure in Paris, with an EU-only supplier chain from servers to payment processing. Any request for your data goes through a European court, and it goes through us first.

How does Email.eu pricing compare to Google Workspace?
Email.eu is €7 per user per month for Starter and €14 for Business, ex VAT, billed monthly with no seat minimum and no annual commitment. Google Business Starter is €6.90 and Business Standard €13.80 per user per month at Google's EUR list price, but those rates require an annual commitment. Storage differs too: Email.eu gives 100 GB per user on Starter, where Google Business Starter gives 30 GB pooled across the organisation.
Can we keep our domain and email addresses?
Yes. You keep your own domain and every address on it, including aliases and group addresses. The switch is a DNS change: we set up your domain and mailboxes first, mirror the existing mail, and you point your MX records at us when you are ready. Nobody has to change their email address.
How long does migrating from Google Workspace take?
Most teams cut over in a weekend. Mail mirrors from Gmail over IMAP or a Google Takeout upload while everyone keeps working in Google, with folders, labels, flags and read state preserved. Calendars, contacts and Drive files move with you during onboarding. The only moment anything changes for users is the MX flip, which we schedule for a Saturday evening in your timezone.
What does Google Workspace do that Email.eu does not?
Google Workspace is a far more mature product and we do not claim parity. It has deeper admin tooling, a large third-party app marketplace, Gemini AI features throughout, and larger meeting capacities. Email.eu has no AI features at all by design, and our meetings are built for internal teams and link-invited guests rather than webinar-scale audiences. Our compliance certifications are targeted for 2026, not yet held.
Does Email.eu work with Outlook, Apple Mail and Thunderbird?
Yes. Email.eu speaks open protocols: IMAP, JMAP and SMTP for mail, CalDAV for calendars, CardDAV for contacts. Any standard client works, on desktop and mobile, with autodiscovery configured for the common ones. There is also a browser webmail client if you prefer not to install anything.
Is my data really outside US jurisdiction?
Yes. The service is operated by Remails B.V., a Dutch company, on OVHcloud infrastructure in Paris, with an EU-only supplier chain including payments. There are three sub-processors, all EU entities, published in full at email.eu/subprocessors. No US company processes your data, so no US company can be compelled to hand it over. Google can offer you an EU data region, but as a US corporation it remains subject to the CLOUD Act wherever the bytes sit.
